The Flash Movie May Race Into Theaters in 2020, ‘If All Goes Well’

by  in Movie News (CBR)

Ezra Miller’s The Flash could be racing into theaters as early as 2020, “if all goes well.”

Co-director John Francis Daley hosted an impromptu Q&A session on Twitter, in which the Vacation and Game Night filmmaker was asked when his next project — presumably, the Miller-led Flash movie — would see the light of day. Surprisingly, Daley gave a rather straightforward answer.

Daley and his creative partner, co-director Jonathan Goldstein, were reportedly signed on to helm the Flash movie for Warner Bros. and DC Films. While The Flash is not officially Daley’s next film to enter production, the timing seems to line up with his remark.

Warner Bros. and DC are set to have a big showing at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, with Aquaman, Shazam! and the 1984-set Wonder Woman sequel set to make a splash. Couple that with rumors swirling of Batman solo film and the studio’s mission to “make better movies,” and a Flash film — that’s better-received than most of the studios’ other efforts — could come sooner than expected.

Originally announced year ago, The Flash has gone through a number of behind-the-scenes changes over the years, with several writers, directors and actors leaving the project. So far, Ezra Miller has appeared as Barry Allen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

But if “all goes well,” it won’t be too long before we see The Flash on the big screen again.
