Craig to Return As Bond

While Craig is arguably the best Bond in my honest opinion, “Spectre” very much allowed for his swan song. I only hope his return is complemented with a good script, direction and a product worthy of his stellar legacy.  REC

Daniel Craig is reportedly set to return as 007 in his fifth outing as British spy James Bond.

The British actor played the loveable secret agent most recently in Spectre (2015) and had famously claimed that he would rather “slash” his own wrists than play the role again.

But it looks like the 48-year-old actor has had a complete change of heart and is now ready to sign up for the latest Bond movie.

According to editors at British newspaper The UK Sun, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has persuaded the star to reprise the role one more time and he is all set to sign the contract to seal the deal. However, Daniel has not yet commented to confirm his return.

The BAFTA award-winning producer is also keen to secure Adele to sing the theme tune again after Skyfall topped the chart as the most profitable Bond movie ever with box-office takings of over $1.14 billion.

The song was the first Bond theme to win awards at the Brit Awards, Grammy Awards and the Golden Globes.

A host of British stars are rumoured to have been approached for the coveted role and recent favourites to play 007 have included Peaky Blinders’ Tom Hardy, Luther star Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Michael Fassbender. It was even suggested that a woman should be the next person to play the secret agent based on the character in Ian Fleming’s novels.

Daniel Craig made his debut as Bond in Casino Royale in 2006, before appearing in Quantum of Solace in 2008, Skyfall in 2012 and most recently in Spectre in 2015.
