UPDATE: Billy Crudup Still Attached To ‘The Flash’

🚨🚨 DCEU UPDATE 🚨🚨

Not so fast. Reports of Billy Crudup leaving THE FLASH are NOT TRUE! Crudup is still attached to play Henry Allen. PLS RT

The Flash movie has experienced a handful of setbacks over the course of the film’s development, losing director Seth Grahame-Smith last year and later his successor Rick Famuyiwa. Fortunately, yesterday’s news that directors Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn & Sam Raimi are the front runners to direct DC Films’ The Flash was welcomed positively by most fans. However, while fans may have been excited by news, Entertainment Weekly’s report on the latest development also revealed that actor Billy Crudup had dropped out of the project.

Cast in the role of Henry Allen, the Scarlet Speedster’s father, Crudup’s departure makes him the first actor to exit the project. Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons remain attached to the film as Barry Allen and Iris West, respectively.

Warner Bros. declined to comment when Entertainment Weekly reached out for comment.

A release date for The Flash has not been scheduled, but Ezra Miller will return as the Scarlet Speedster when Justice League hits theaters this year.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017.
