James Wan’s “Aquaman” just got some more star power. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Rocky IV” alum Dolph Lundgren will join Jason Momoa and Amber Heard in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film.

The “Expendables” star will play King Nereus of Xebel, a neighboring underwater kingdom. The report describes Nereus as a fellow suitor of Heard’s Mera, who “claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.”

“Aquaman” won’t be the actor’s first foray into DC Comics. As Konstantin Kovar, Lundgren is a recurring antagonist on The CW’s “Arrow.” Lundgren plays a Russian mob boss who brings out Oliver Queen’s dark side in a series of flashbacks to the Emerald Archer’s past. He also appeared as anti-hero Frank Castle in the 1989 film “The Punisher,” which was based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

Lundgren is better known for his role as Ivan Drago in Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky IV.” He also played He-Man in “Masters of the Universe.” His past credits include “James Bond” flick “A View To a Kill,” the “Expendable” series and more.

Arriving on December 21, 2018, “Aquaman” stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
