It looks like we finally know how many episodes we will be seeing for the first season of Freeform’s upcoming Marvel television series, Cloak & Dagger. Thanks to a new update from MIP, we now know that Cloak & Dagger will consist of 10 episodes for Season 1 which is set to premiere sometime next year.

During a recent Disney Distribution presentation, Senior Vice President Mark Endẽmano offered glimpses of both The Inhumans (coming to ABC this fall) as well as Cloak & Dagger. He also spoke about the romance between Tandy and Ty as well as what this show brings to the table that other Marvel TV shows hasn’t in the past.

“Cloak & Dagger is about character and emotion above all. It tells of a romance between Tandy and Tyrone in a way that we haven’t really seen before in a Marvel TV series. So think Romeo and Juliet though I can tell you that they won’t be dying at the end of the first episode!”

“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.”

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, starring Aubrey Joseph (The Night Of) as Ty Johnson/Cloak, Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It) as Tandy Bowen/Dagger, Andrea Roth (Blue Bloods) as Melissa Bowen, Gloria Reuben (ER) as Adina Johnson, Miles Mussenden (Bloodline) as Michael Johnson, James Saito (Life of Pi) as Dr. Bernard Sanjo, J.D. Evermore (True Detective) as Detective Connors and Carl Lundstedt (Conviction) as Liam. is set to premiere sometime in 2018 on Freeform. Underground’s Joe Pokaski has been tapped as the show-runner and executive producer on the upcoming series.
