SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for last night’s Season 7 finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

Sonequa Martin-Green might have left the cast of “The Walking Dead” in the show’s action-packed Season 7 finale, but apparently, at least one of her co-stars would be willing to travel lightyears to work with her again on “Star Trek: Discovery” — and they may even be willing to don a ton of prosthetics and make-up to do so.

Speaking to Variety, Andrew Lincoln, who plays the show’s lead actor Rick Grimes, said, “[Sonequa is] an incredible personality with incredible grace and strength and tenacity,” adding, “She’s a very impressive woman. She will be leading that starship with the same class and fortitude. That is going to be one happy spaceship. I’d love to beam myself up at some point in some kind of Greg Nicotero special effects makeup.”

Lincoln went on to explain that, as has become the custom on the show, “The Walking Dead’s” production team worked the schedule so that Martin-Green’s final scenes were the last ones of the season to be shot, before pouring further praise on his colleague.

“She brings so much lightness and joy and heart to every occasion. Just watching her work is fantastic,” the actor said, adding, “She’s fully committed at all times and she’s going to be terribly, terribly missed. She’s one of the hearts of the show.”

Martin-Green is set to join the previously announced cast of “Star Trek: Discovery” that includes Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou, Doug Jones as Science Officer Lt. Saru and Anthony Rapp as astromycologist Lt. Stamets. “Penny Dreadful” alum Shazad Latif will also play the prominent role of Klingon commanding officer Kol, with Chris Obi (“American Gods”) playing T’Kuvma, a Klingon leader who seeks to unite the Klingon houses. Mary Chieffo will portray L’Rell, the battle deck commander of the Klingon ship.

“Star Trek: Discovery” is currently expected to hit TV screens sometime in late summer/early fall 2017. It will be available via the CBS All Access steaming platform in the US, on Space in Canada and via Netflix in the rest of the world.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 debuts this fall on AMC.
