JESSICA JONES BEGINS PRODUCTION OF SEASON 2

3 hours agoby  in TV News(CBR)

With “Iron Fist” now streaming, “The Defenders” wrapping up production, and “Punisher” now well into filming, it’s time for cameras to roll on Marvel’s next Netflix project:. “Jessica Jones” Season Two.

Little pink “No Parking” notices have begun to dot Manhattan’s Upper West Side, revealing that filming begins today at Broadway and West 101st Street, the location used for the exterior of Jessica’s apartment (and the offices of Alias Investigations) during the first season of the acclaimed drama.

The neighborhood is also where a lot of “Daredevil” was filmed. It’s a less-busy, and less-pristine, part of the city than Hell’s Kitchen, which in reality is not the dangerous neighborhood the Marvel Netflix dramas would have you believe.

A lot is still unknown about the second season of “Jessica Jones.” We know the surviving main characters will return, but there’s been no indication of the antagonist.. The first season established the less-than-stable Will as the comics villain Nuke, and a mysterious organization behind the accident that gave Jessica her powers. There’s a persistent rumor among fans that long-time Daredevil baddie Typhoid Mary may be due to make an appearance. What’s certain is that the second season will be helmed by a lineup of all-female directors.

Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, “Jessica Jones” stars Krysten Ritter as the troubled super-powered private investigator. The second season is expected to air in 2018.
