Michael Peña Has Yet To Be Called For ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’

Michael Peña has revealed he has yet to receive the call to return as Luis in the sequel to 2014’s Ant-Man, Ant-Man and The Wasp.

In a recent interview with Collider for his upcoming films CHIPS and The Ninjago Movie, Peña was whether or not he has received a call to come back for the Ant-Man sequel which is set to start shooting this summer when he revealed he still isn’t sure whether or not he will return as Luis:

“No, no, I haven’t gotten the phone call yet. I don’t know if I’m gonna get the phone call. Who knows?”

The fact that Peña is a bit surprising considering he nearly stole the show with his hilarious performance in the first film. The Hollywood Reporter had also confirmed the actor for the sequel back in August of 2016. But as of now the only returning stars are Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lily and Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp and Michael Douglass as the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym.

Plot details are under wraps but it’s possible the sequel could further explore Pym’s past and the devastating loss of his wife Janet after she was lost in the quantum realm. Following Scott’s return from the quantum realm in Ant-Man, Pym was left wondering whether or not it was possible that Janet could still be alive.

Production on Ant-Man and The Wasp is set to kick off this summer on July 6 in Atlanta, GA with the film slated to hit theaters exactly one year later on July 6, 2018.
