‘Preacher’ Adds 3 New Cast Members For Season 2 As Series Regulars

As AMC is nearing the release of season 2 of its show Preacher, a heap of new casting has been announced. Three actors will be joining the show as series regulars, Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones, Deep Water) Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Crown) and Julie Ann Emery (Fargo, Better Call Saul).

AMC has also announced three more actors for recurring roles in Malcolm Barrett (War On Everyone, Dear White People), Ronald Guttman (Homeland, Mozart in the Jungle) and Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why, Malibu Country).

With the cast having been announced I’m all hyped up for the next season of Preacher. The first one was a blast to watch, and was perhaps the best tv comic book adaptation until Legion started last month.

Preacher follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is inhabited by the renegade spawn of an angel and demon and gains the power to control people with just a word. The series’ second season returns this summer and follows Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God, dealing with issues both worldly and other-worldly along the way.

Preacher season 2 has yet to receive an official start date, but we’re likely to hear more out of SXSW this coming week.
