Kinda conflicted on this one. Show was easily the best comedy series in my opinion and gave 8 terrific seasons before the 9th season misstep. If they release it though, I will unquestionably watch it:) REC

Zach Braff has been working in Hollywood for quite some time now, but no matter what he does, he will probably always be known for playing J.D. on Scrubs. The show has been off the air since 2010, but remains incredibly popular among fans, so it makes sense that there would be some desire to see a revival or reunion of some kind at some point. According to Zach Braff himself, that may be possible.

During a recent Twitter Q&A to promote his latest movie Going In Style, a fan asked if he would ever consider making new episodes of Scrubs. Zach Braff gave a very encouraging answer, saying that he would absolutely do it and that it has been talked about. Here is what he had to say.

“You never know about making more Scrubs Episodes, it’s something we all talk about, especially now that all these people are going back and doing Netflix versions of their Shows. I am very jealous of all this Gilmore Girls attention, and Full House….so you never know it could happen – I’d do it.”

As Zach Braff points out, Netflix has been doing a fine job of resurrecting shows that have a strong fan base long after they aired their final episodes on traditional television. Most recently, the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls dominated the conversation on social media and appeared to be a very successful endeavor for the streaming service. Netflix famously doesn’t release their actual viewing numbers, so it is hard to know exactly how well these shows do. Their Full House revival, Fuller House clearly did well, because they just dropped the second season, meaning they felt it was viable to renew it. Not only that, but one of the first shows they ever produced was the fourth season of Arrested Development. Taking that into account, Scrubs seems like it would be right in line for some new episodes.

Scrubs ran for 9 seasons totaling 182 episodes. The show was rescued at one point when it moved from NBC to ABC for its final two seasons. Most of the central cast has moved on to other projects, but nobody is busy enough to prevent a Scrubs reunion from happening. Netflix, Amazon, and other streaming providers, are all fighting for an audience and having some recognizable and beloved shows under their belt can be very helpful. Recently, though it was quite a different sort of thing, Amazon had a ton of success by rescuing Top Gear with The Grand Tour, which features the original hosts from the very popular BBC car show.

Zach Braff also says that “it’s something we all talk about,” meaning that this is clearly something that has been discussed. It is pretty unclear as to who “we all” refers to, exactly, but that would seem to imply that anyone who would be needed to ensure a Scrubs reunion could happen has talked about it. For now, fans can only hope that someone like Netflix sees the value in doing some new episodes of Scrubs. You can check out Zack Braff’s response for yourself below.
