‘The Flash’: Teddy Sears Teases Possible Black Flash Return In Season 3

In the Season 2 finale of The Flash, we saw Barry Allen take on the villainous Hunter Zolomon a.k.a. Zoom, played by Teddy Sears, who had been terrorizing the heroes of Central City as well as the Multiverse last season. While Hunter didn’t bite the dust, he did turn into a very familiar figure from the mythology as two Time Wraiths caused him to transform into the one and only Black Flash.

In a new interview with TV Guide, Sears was asked whether or not we might see Black Flash pop up this season. While not giving a definitive yes or no, he did state that the show-runners of the show have talked about doing a Black Flash story some day.

“Zoom has been transformed into Black Flash, who has quite a place in the mythology of The Flash. He’s like the grim reaper for speedsters. Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series.”

However, Sears does bring up the fact that schedule availability might get in the way. He will be playing one of the main characters on the upcoming FOX series 24: Legacy, which will premiere in February 2017. Given that it’s on a different network and that production is most likely not taking place in Vancouver, Canada, which is where The Flash films, it might be tricky for him to do a guest spot.

“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We’ll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way. It sounds like they do, but it’s funny – now I belong to Fox, so there’s lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so.”

The Flash Season 3 returns with all new episodes on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 8/7c on The CW.
