Now officially set to debut in 2017, “Marvel’s The Punisher” just grew by five. According to Marvel.com, Daniel Webber (“11.22.63)Jason R. Moore (“A Lonely Place for Dying”), Paul Schulze (“Nurse Jackie”), Jaime Ray Newman (“Bates Motel”) and Michael Nathanson (“The Knick,” “Wolf of Wall Street”) will join star Jon Bernthal, who was introduced as Marvel antihero Frank Castle in the second season of “Daredevil.”

Webber has been cast as Lewis Walcott, “a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.”

Moore will portray Curtis Hoyle, “a friend of Frank Castle and one of the few people who knows he is alive.”

Schulze will play Rawlins, “a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle.”

Newman is set to play Sarah Lieberman, “Micro’s wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated.” Micro, a former NSA analyst “whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle,” is presumably based on the Marvel Comics character David Lieberman, a hacker and longtime ally of the Punisher who has gone by the aliases Micro and Microchip.

Nathanson has been cast as Sam Stein, “a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of ‘Marvel’s The Punisher,’” executive producer Steve Lightfoot said in a statement. “It’s a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances.”

“Marvel TV is very proud of the cast of ‘The Punisher,’” added Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb. “Each actors brings a special promise who surround Jon Bernthal’s exceptional performance.”

“Marvel’s The Punisher” will debut on Netflix in 2017.
