Another villain has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther.” According toVariety, “Person of Interest” star Winston Duke will play M’Baku, “one of Wakanda’s most powerful warriors and one of T’Challa’s biggest rivals,” in the upcoming film. Marvel declined to comment on their report.

Created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema, M’Baku — also known as the Man-Ape — debuted in 1969’s “Avengers” #62. With abilities like superhuman strength, speed and agility, M’Baku frequently attempts to take the throne from T’Challa, Wakanda’s Black Panther.

In addition to “Person of Interest,” Duke’s past credits inclue “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “The Messengers” and “Major Crimes.”

Chadwick Boseman will star in the film as T’Challa, the king of Wakanda and holder of the Black Panther mantle. The character made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in“Captain America: Civil War,” where he sided with Iron Man against Captain America’s team. Over the course of the film, he assumed the title of King of Wakanda, like his father before him, and donned the mantle of Black Panther in his quest for revenge.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, “Black Panther” also stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o. The film opens Feb. 16, 2018.
