Here’s some news that will make you shout “Spoon!” The new live-action “Tick” has been ordered to series by Amazon and will debut on Amazon Prime in 2017. Additionally, Amazon’s other two comedy pilots — “I Love Dick” and “Jean-Claude Van Johnson” — have also been ordered to series.

“These pilots were vast in scope, disruptive in tone, challenging in story and sometimes even funny,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Half-Hour Series, Amazon Studios, as reported by Deadline. “It’s rewarding to see customers embrace them in such a huge way. We can’t wait to premiere these series next year on Prime Video.”

Starring Peter Serafinowicz as the Tick and Griffin Newman as his sidekick Arthur, the new “Tick” series features a grittier, more street-level take on the pompous and blustery superhero. The Tick originally debuted in the pages of “New England Comics” in 1986 and was followed by a cartoon series in 1994 and a live-action series starring Patrick Warburton in 2001.

“I Love Dick,” starring Kevin Bacon and Kathryn Hahn, is based on a cult favorite novel and focuses on a Texas couple’s relationship following a cultural awakening. “Jean-Claude Van Johnson” stars, of course, Jean-Claude Van Damme as a heightened version of himself wherein the action star also serves as a black ops agent (while also making action flicks).

All three pilots are viewable now on Amazon Prime, where they were initially put in competition with each other for a series pick-up; as with previous Amazon pilot seasons, the streaming service waited to gauge audience interest before ordering any show to series. All three shows will premiere exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video service in 2017 in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany and Austria.
